A base load is used when consumers can not be recognized due to their capacity, but should cause the mains voltage to be switched on. Basic loads must always go into operation parallel to the associated load and be switched off with it. Higher standby loads may affect or prevent the detection of a base load. Examples include: fluorescent lamps, dimmer circuits and electronic transformers. Basic load element GLE PTC in a small socket with connecting cables, can be used directly in a switch or a junction box.
